Domaine Richaud

Le Primeur 2025

Côtes du Rhône

Encépagement

Blend of Grenache, Syrah, and Cinsault.

In 2025, Cairanne experienced typically Mediterranean summers — hot, dry, and sun-drenched — promoting excellent grape ripening, enhanced by the beneficial effects of the mistral wind.

However, rainfall increased in spring and at the start of harvest, bringing much-needed water at just the right time. Long sunny days and the cleansing effect of the mistral helped maintain a particularly healthy vineyard environment throughout the growing season.

The result: healthy grapes, balanced alcohol levels, and beautiful natural acidity.

A vintage that promises harmony and finesse.

Vignes et rendement

The average age of the vines is 50 years (yield: 45 hl/ha).

The parcels in the Travers and Grange areas are rooted in soils composed of sand, gravel, pebbles, and calcareous silt, known as Helvetian marine molasses.

Elevage

Short vatting at low temperature.

Natural vinification: no additives, no added sulfites, and fermentation with indigenous yeasts.

Aged at low temperatures in concrete vats until bottling.

Dégustation

This 2025 vintage immediately captivates with its pale hue and brilliant ruby highlights, promising a delicate wine.

On the nose, it reveals refined aromas of crushed red berries, violet, and a subtle hint of pink peppercorns.

The palate is lively from the first sip, with a slightly sparkling attack, offering a supple and generous texture supported by soft tannins.

A perfect balance between freshness and indulgence, ideal for casual enjoyment.

Best enjoyed young, within the year, to fully appreciate its vibrant fruit character.
